Jay Bichard

The work of Jay Bichard focuses on the link between the process of decay and architecture. To most people decay is a disturbing image but Jay’s work seeks to exploit the beauty of the process, which is usually very much hidden. Both architecture and decay are fundamental things in society but hold very different characteristics and purposes. To Jay architecture is about strength, stability, specificity and survival whereas decay is fragile, ephemeral and unspecific.

Jay sees structures and landscapes in the forms created by the mould. By using the contrasting themes Jay finds a way to manipulate and link the two subjects together.
