Feral Exhibition
Pip Norton

The concept of the fictional narrative is important in Norton’s work. Through using traditional fairy tales as a catalyst for her practice; she aims to have a story underlying in her pieces. By taking aspects and themes from these stories and trying to bring them into a contemporary setting.

In Norton’s current practice she makes representations of the human form. By creating her own people she is creating a protagonist; basing their identity around fairy tale characters much like a storyteller. Through, for example, casting the face of a real person and then changing their appearance, hair or skin colour, and make it her own. Bringing the fiction to a reality; by using a face that exists in the real world.
