It could be said that the additional technology available to us today to edit images removes any signs of the trial and error that may have gone into an image’s production, in favour of a consistent standard. Often the ‘perfected’ image becomes the expected end goal. The risk for photography is that this could create less honest, or rather less authentic representations of the situations that the pictures were actually taken in.

Through the creative engagement with chance and error the ‘flaw’ and the vernacular have become accentuated in order to challenge this notion. The final body of work “Wait” is intended to provoke the audience to question the purpose of the work and what was being anticipated by the photographer.
